Ask the Experts
"What can I do about algae in my pond ? "
The experts at Atlanta Water Gardens can help you keep your pond in great shape. For customers having problems controlling pond algae, w recommend Algaefix. Algaefix is a liquid pond additive that is used to control three basic typesof algae:
- Chlorella(green water algae)
- Cladophora(string or hair algae) and
- Oedogonium(blantetweed).
During the treatment, waterfalls and aeration devices should be in operation to avoid fish loss due to low oxygen levels. The specified doseage is 1tsp(5 ml) for every 50 gallons of pond water. Algaefix should be added every 3 days until the algae problem is controlled.
It is best to add the specified amount to a bucket of pond water and pour it around the perimeter of the pond or pour the solution into the waterfall for good dispersion.
You can purchase Algaefix directly from our online store in 3 sizes: 8oz, 16oz, or 64 oz. . Be sure to calculate your pond's volume before placing your order.
